Over the few last years, real-time and constant access to devices, particularly remote ones, has become acrucial aspect in many applications, such as telemetry, goods tracking and remote maintenance, leading to anew machine-to-machine communication paradigm. In this context, NetModule developed an initial line ofproducts concentrated on public wireless network technology. These products mainly rely on Windows CEOperating System. However, pure TCP/IP protocol is not suited any more to future broadband wirelesscommunications since it doesn't care about the characteristics of the wireless medium. NetModule thereforeplans to develop a new generation of product with a radically different approach based upon open andscalable software foundation and improved TCP/IP protocol stack.
