Scientific design of new medical devices for high energy elastic wave therapy of tissues and bones

Abstract (English)

This project combines mechanical design with basic scientific knowledge in solid bio- and wave mechanics to develop new medical instruments. Its objectives consist of (1) mechanically characterizing generation of high energy pressure waves by impact (2) modeling and simulating impact generation of waves and their propagation in human tissues and bones (3) with the help of the developed understanding and modeling tools, designing and commercializing new medical devices for high energy pressure wave therapy of tissues and bones.
