Mode Programmable Crypto Module: study, development and realization
Abstract
(English)
The projects goal is the study, implementation and fast-prototyping of a secure mode-programmable cryptographic co-processor. This device will complete the family of high performance modular cryptographic coprocessors that ST is embedding in several of its home networking, Set Top Boxes and general-purpose integrated circuits. The outcome of the project will be a crypto module that will be programmable to support new modes of operations, thus without requiring any hardware re-design when a new mode is introduced. This future proof module will allow reducing costs, time to market and it will enable seamless upgrading (software) of products required to support new standards in the field of network security, content protection as well as general purpose cryptography.
