This project aims at a new high performance digital motion sensor combining gyroscope and accelerometer functions in the same MEMS device. The innovative concept will allow an order of magnitude improved performance for the gyro function while reducing the cost as compared with commercially available state of the art sensors. The motion sensor will be manufactured and sold by Colibrys. The first applications are in geodesic equipment by Leica Geosystems and in aeronautics by Crossbow.
