Abstract (English)	Nanopowers S.A. is a Swiss medical device company that applies proprietary technology to restore or improve muscle function in humans. This project aims to complete the development of Atripump to restore the transport function in patients suffering from atrial fibrillation. Atripump consists of a contractile web based on shape memory alloys technology and controlled by a micro computer sensing cardiac activity. Atripump is implanted to the exterior of the heart significantly improving the patient¿s QOL. Atripump provides the key technology for medical and non-medical applications of artificial muscles.
