Designed Repeat Proteins: Novel Receptor Molecules for Life Science, Diagnostics and Therapy
Abstract
(English)
We developed a novel class of receptor proteins, Designed Repeat Proteins (DRPs), with an extraordinary potential to complement and substitute classical antibodies in biotechnological, diagnostic and therapeutic applications. DRPs possess affinities and specificities of antibodies, but surpass them in expression yield, stability and intracellular efficacy. The aim of this KTI-Discovery project is now to develop a range of commercial applications based on the DRP technology.
