DecoCHina : A 'win-win'Chinese-Swiss network of SME in the subcontracting industry
Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
The Chinese market shows presently a steady growth (7-9%) and is considered by many industrial branches as the important market of tomorrow. Companies in the car, telecommunications and electronic appliances branches for instance are opening factories there not only to re-export the produced goods but also to cover an increasing domestic market. What does it mean for Swiss SME active in a subcontracting industrial branch like screw machining? Do the Chinese market and production place open new business opportunities for them? If yes, how could small enterprises be active there? Many experiences showed that entering the Chinese market needs a continuous presence, a lot of efforts and a good understanding of the local mentalities. Some SME made bad experiences due to their limited resources and lost a lot of money. A partnership with local enterprises within a network could be a solution to overcome these difficulties and allow small enterprises to be also present in this fast expanding market without having to invest too much of their scarce resources. The aim of this project is to develop a network of networked enterprises in China and in Switzerland. The scientific aspects of this project cover research in the modelling and optimisation of extended business processes, trust building mechanisms, supporting adapted ICT tools as well as overcoming the cultural and economical differences.
