Abstract (Englisch)	This project focuses on the feasibility and first implementation of a polarization-independent free-space electro-optic modulator for distance measurements. The key element for the proposed device is a Fabry-Perot cavity containing either a liquid or an electro-optic polymer sandwiched between two electrodes. The cavity can be controlled by an applied electric field up to the GHz range. If successful, this project will allow a leading Swiss company to improve their competitivity further with an innovative concept in the field of distance measurements.
