MegaFasL is a humanized soluble protein that triggers apoptosis in target cells through engagement of the death receptor Fas. MegaFasL has an ideal profile as a cell purging agent in autologous hematopoietic transplantation. The proposed project will determine the potential of MegaFasL to rapidly enter the market as a novel cell purging compound by assessing its ability to selectively kill hematopoietic cancer cells while allowing repopulating stem cells and immune cells to remain functional.
