Development of novel cholesterol absorption inhibitors

Abstract (Englisch)

Several small molecules have already been patented, synthesized and identified to be inhibitors of cholesterol absorption using Lipideon¿s proprietary screening technology. Key assay results have recently been validated in mice. A variety of new inhibitors classes will be synthesized and screened. The most promising hits will be further developed into a drug candidate with potentially diminished side-effects compared to ezetimibe, the only drug of this class on the market
