Résumé des résultats (Abstract) (Anglais)	Psychiatric disorders are chronic, severe and disabling brain disease affecting millions of people in a given year in the US alone. It is generally accepted now that the underlying cause for most of these disturbances is a disregulation of synaptic function. The synaptic serine protease neurotrypsin is a modulator of synaptic structure, function, and plasticity in the CNS and, therefore, has been implicated as a pharmacological target for the modulation of synaptic function. We propose to develop inhibitors of neurotrypsin as a novel generation of drugs for the treatment of psychiatric diseases.
