Abstract (Englisch)	The goal of the proposed project is to develop a new generation of compact all-solid-state UV CW lasers operating at 200¿350nm. Such lasers would have a great impact in applications like laser lithography, spectroscopy, optical storage mastering and a variety of medical applications. The scientific and technological challenge of the project presents realization of high-quality ridge waveguides in borate crystals for efficient frequency conversion of visible laser light into the needed UV region.
