An innovative method utilizing ionizing radiation for the generation of highly diverse mixture-based chemical compound libraries will be used to synthesize small molecules based on antimicrobially active and non-active scaffolds. The method will be refined and standardized for routine application. Libraries will be screened for antimicrobial activity against several pathogens in cell-based assays. Resulting hits will be profiled and the most promising candidates emerging from the project will enter subsequent preclinical testing
