Ageing Population and Tourism: Is Switzerland Ready for the Demographic Shift?

Abstract (Englisch)

The Swiss population, but also the populations of many of our neighbour countries, is ageing. It is reasonable to expect a shift in the demographics of Swiss tourism customer segmentation. The tourist of the future will quite simply be older. The aim of this project is to measure some of the effects that the ageing population will have on the Swiss tourism sector, to understand some of the changes in the needs and expectations of customers, to evaluate whether the sector is ready for the expected changes, and finally, to make recommendations to the sector of how to adapt to the expected changes.
