OneBat - Battery Replacement using Miniaturized Solid Oxide Fuel Cell

Abstract (German)

The OneBat project focuses on the development of a miniautrized Solid Oxide Fuell Cell (SOFC) hybrid power source for small electronic equipment such as portable phones. Processed using micro-fabrication techniques and operating directly on liquid gas (like butane), this new type of rechargeable battery will exhibit more than a 3-fold increase in engergy capacity compared to the current Li-ion products. The targeted product demonstrator depends on significant achievements in fuel cell integration, gas processing and heat management at the micro-systems scale.
