3D Micro/nanostructured Surfaces for Proteomics Chips
Abstract
(English)
One of the major challenges of biomaker profiling with proteomic chips (protein arrays) is the availability of chip surfaces providing sufficient analytical sensitivity for customer applications where starting material is very limited or expensive (e.g. for cancer tissue, stem cells, etc.). The global of this project is to develop a novel 3D (micro- and nanostructured surface) for planar waveguide proteomic chips. The project combines micro-patterning technology with sub-micron surface chemistry, based on surface -initiated polymerization and the use of nano-particles, in order to achieve a 100 times increase in assay sensitivity compared to existing proteomic chips.
