Low power wireless communication is an important business field in which many different standards (Bluetooth, Zigbee, UWB) are actively targeting different applications. The goal of this project is to bring out an integrated circuit which covers the new WIBREE standard from NOKIA while also allowing socket stealing of existing proprietary low power solutions. The unique selling points with respect to other solutions will be the possibility to work with a single 1.5V battery and to manage the peak current consumption to be able to work with button batteries. To achieve this goal a team is set up combining several players based in Switzerland.
