Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Français)
Peritoneal dialysis (PD) has become a well established tool for the treatment of patients suffering from advanced kidney failure (see annex 1). Its widespread use is presently hampered in several instances by a progressive loss of efficiency. Within the framework of the CTI project ¿Chronodial¿ No 6169.2 MTS, a new mathematical model and computer simulation environment have been elaborated to investigate and predict the kinetics of individual injection-extraction patterns (see annex 3 and annex 4). Based on the remark that the long-term alterations of the peritoneal membrane are mostly induced by the presence of the dialysate, in this new project we propose a prescription mode of PD that takes into account the efficiency of blood purification (in the sense of small solute removal and ultrafiltration) as well as its potential bio-incompatibility and long-term toxicity.
