Physically based methods for flow visualization and analysis and interactive exploration techniques for time-dependent CFD data.
Abstract
(English)
The first objective of this research project is the development of visualization techniques based on vorticity transport and related physical principles. Beyond the visualization of extracted single features, we aim at revealing the interrelation between features of different types. The second objective is to optimize visualization algorithms for efficient display of time-dependent flow data in a virtual reality environment. Optimization techniques being used or explored are parallelization by domain decomposition or time-step pipelining, view dependence, and temporal coherency.
