The goal of this project is to achieve another step in the performance improvements of quantum cascade lasers. To this end, we will systematically study the waveguide growth and technology, use the latest etching techniques of the FIRST lab to enable the fabrication of very narrow ridges with very high control as well as extremely low waveguide losses
