Short description
(English)
TRANSBIG means "TRANSlating molecular knowledge into early breast cancer management: building on the Breast International Group (BIG) network for improved treatment tailoring.

The goals of TRANSBIG are:
1) to develop ways of individualizing breast cancer treatment, so that the treatment is tailored to the person receiving it.
2) to integrate, strengthen an facilitate translational and clinical breast cancer research...by linking to an existing network for clinical breast cancer trials (BIG).
3) to develop and run a major clinical trial aimed at validating the hypothesis that undesrtanding the genetic make-up (signature) of a tumor can lead to better targeted treatment.

The missions are:
1) to help researchers in the design of microarray experiments
2) to supervise/perform microarray experiment analyses (breast cancer, glioblastome, Huntington disease, diabetes,...)
3) to develop statistical methods for microarrays analysis
4) to provide bioinformatics resources for researchers
5) to adress microarray annotation issues
