Security governance Maghreb states
Short description
(English)
Starting in July 2003, the GCSP has been conducting a project on Security Governance in the Southerin Mediterranean on behalf of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. The main objective of this project is to identify possible areas and forms of cooperation between Switzerland and Maghreb countries in the security poclicy field, focussing on the issue of security governance.

As the findings of this project show, enhancing security governance is a key challenge that these countries face today, and a niche exists for Switzerland in this area - in particular as regards holding training and capacity building courses in the security policy field. The Swiss authorities copporate on this endeavour with the GCSP.
Project aims
(English)
