Abstract
(English)
a) A novel, mononuclear Ti(IV) amine triphenolate complex, obtained by reaction of Ti(OiPr)4 with tris(2-hydroxy-3-phenylbenzyl)amine bearing phenyl ortho-substituents, affords quantitatively and spontaneously the corresponding heterochiral ?-oxo dinuclear compound with a linear oxo bridge and the peripheral phenyl rings from the two ligands intercalating and shielding the Ti-O-Ti core. On the other hand an analogous chiral, enantiopure complex maintains its mononuclear helical shaped structure even in the presence of a an excess of water. b) New, C2-symmetric bulky N-heterocyclic carbene ligands show a significant improvement of enantioselectivity in the Pd catalyzed asymmetric intramolecular a-arylation of amides to give ox-indoles.
