Abstract
(English)
The biocontrol potential of thirteen entomopathogenic nematode strains (EPN) against nut and orchard pests was evaluated under laboratory, semi-field and field conditions. In the laboratory, successful pest control was achieved with several EPN strains respectively on both hazelnut and chestnut weevil. EPN applications also caused increased mortality of European cherry fruit fly but not of the european cockchafer. Semi-field experiments indicated increased mortality of hazelnut and chestnut weevil, although some of the results were inconsistent and real efficacy under field conditions has to be confirmed. The control of European cherry fruit fly by EPNs under field conditions failed; pest larvae pupated immediately after entering the soil and thus escaped parasitism.
