Short description (French)

The 'Geneva Forum' is a project supported by the Programme for Strategic and International Security Studies (PSIS) of the Graduate Institute of International Studies (IUHEI) in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR).

Project aims (French)

The 'Geneva Forum', established in 1996, aims at gathering key representatives of academia, governments and non-governmental organisations in various fields of arms control and disarmament in a number of meetings (residential seminars, conferences, lunchtime seminars, etc.). In recent years, the activities of the 'Geneva Forum' have focused especially on the issues of small arms and light weapons and biological weapons. The 'Geneva Forum' strives, through these activities, to support arms control and disarmament negotiations, and security-building activities more generally, in Geneva. For this purpose, the 'Geneva Forum' co-operates with a wide international network of experts in all fields of arms control and international securtiy.
