Short description
(English)
In 1991 data were obtained from an antenatal group, originally set up to look at risk factors for toxoplasma, to assess the prevalence of Hepatitis B&C in the Swiss population. Ten years later, the SFOPH would like to see how things have changed over time. However, first of all the health authorities would need to answer to the following questions:
Is an antenatal study group the best one to use as findings will be difficult to extrapolate to the general population?
Will this type of study yield useful information on the trends given the low prevalence of hepatitis (less than 1%) in this population?
Will it be possible to compare the data with that collected 10 years ago, as the risk factors collected for the previous study were targeted for toxoplasma rather than hepatitis C?
Can we extrapolate to the Swiss population from mandatory data collection rather
