Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
There is a lack of diagnostic procedures able to identify people during the Vcjd incubation time, and uncertainty with the clinical diagnosis of human TSEs. In response, TSELAB is proposed as multidisciplinary European diagnostic TSE laboratory without walls. It aims to develop and apply clinical and novel laboratory diagnostic procedures to identify preclinical and clinical phases of various TSEs, by examination of various tissues, preferably of readily accessible fluids such as blood or urine, and to identify vCJD possibly emerging also in non-129MM geno-types. TSELAB effectively complements existing clinical-epidemiological and neuro-pathological networks in Europe that will provide material for investigation. Partners include the most experienced European groups for TSE diagnostic procedures, have developed the novel PMCA, SIFT, ELISA, controlled degradation of PrPres and uPrPsc methods themselves, and can be expected to achieve project aims.
