The PLASMATECH network is intended to coordinate European activities in the field of plasma technologies in order to develop and apply them to the domains of Health, Food and Environment as well as consumer products. Its principal objective is to collect, structure and manage different information, to facilitate exchange of experience, to prepare demonstration tests and experiments between the different sectors of activity from industry to research in order to cross fertilise the different sectors and promote the creation of new industrial applications. In particular, creation of new projects and Shared Cost activities will be promoted inside the Consortium.
The objectives of PLASMATECH is to set up a network of excellence in order to achieve technical aspects of Target Research Actions 'modern factory': customer-oriented, high-tech, agile and towards zero-waste production. The Plasmatech aims at promoting, developing and disseminating new applications related to plasma technologies from the existing expertise through an integrated structure and lead to new industrial activity. The promotion of new projects will open new technological prospects in the fields of Textile, Health, Food and Environment, which do not exist, or only at the embryo stage. New ideas and knowledge developed from this cross fertilising of the different scientific and industrial sectors will be invaluable for EU industry and will serve for development of a completely new activity. The Plasmatech is a network of excellence since the participants are leaders in their fields of activities and main missions.
