Abstract
(English)
The proposal PALLADIUM embraces the field of homogeneous catalysis and organometallic chemistry. It is focused on the synthesis of potential future products through the use of palladium compounds as the catalysts. Indeed, palladium is an extremely versatile catalyst and it carries out practically all type of carbon-carbon bond formations, often in high selectivity and enantioselectivity. Four main products and reactions have been selected for this project: polyketones, oligomers for making resins, esters/acid and amino acids.

On this basis, the Network Teams will join their affords to the following topics:
i. Design of new co-polymerisaton catalysts and new co- and ter-polymers;
ii. The design of new co-oligomerisation catalysts;
iii. The design of new catalysts for amidocarbonylation;
iv. Design of new catalysts for carbonylation and its asymmetric variant.

The present Network involves 7 laboratories, from 5 European countries. All Teams have a large expertise in both organometallic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis and are highly complementary in interests and techniques. Importantly, the participants have agreed to construct an efficient structure of the Network (Management Team), which should dynamically organize the different tasks, redistribute resources and control the quality of the results. Even though no industry is a formal applicant in the Network, collaborations with five European industries have been set up (see the support letters) and trainees of the Network will be trained in their laboratories.
