Abstract (Englisch)

The present project will study and develop innovative surface functionalisation techniques that will be used for the production of Immuno Analysis tests. As a demonstration exercise, they will be applied to detection of patulin and alternation.

The technical output of the project are:
1. Production of functionalised planar and spherical supports for IA sensors and extraction columns: Covalent immobilisation of specific antibodies will be based on preparation of the surface by plasma modification techniques in order to ensure covalent bonding;
2. Plasma Fluidised Bed Reactor (PFBR) for the production of functionalised powders used in Immuno-Affinity extraction columns and biosensors;
3) Rapid screening dip stick immunotests for detection of mycotoxin (patulin and Alternariol) able to provide an inexpensive high-volume sample testing.
