Abstract

Laser tweezers offer the unique opportunity to maintain cells and native vesicles free from interactions with any substrate. Our goal is to design, build, and test a system allowing massively parallel optical trapping in conjunction with micro-fluidics. This opens new avenues for combinatorial chemistry and (bio)-chemical reactions in floating nano-containers, eventually at the single molecule level. Optical imaging schemes will authorize non-destructive inspection of traps and real-time analysis of the performed (bio)-chemical reactions.
