UN group of friends
Description succincte
(Anglais)
Theresa Witfield, a well-known expert on UN affairs, will draft the study as a result of a two-year research project. The study will provide comparative analysis of the instances in which the group of friends mechanism has been employed to further United Nations peacemaking. The study will include a series of observations regarding the circumstances within which "friends" groups may be most usefully engaged within a peace process and how the process may be structured to do so. These observations will have both policy relevance both for officials at the United Nations and for representatives of member states who have or might become engaged as "friends" of a particular process.

Swizterland is only paying a fraction of the total costs of this study.
