On January 21, 2003, the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of the Armed Forces (DCAF) and the United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG) jointly organized a one-day seminar on "Security Sector Reform: Its Relevance for Conflict Prevention, Peace Building, and Development" for Heads of Mission and UN agencies in Geneva as well as representatives of Geneva-based research institutions and non-governmental organizations. Given the success of the seminar and the importance of further disseminating the ideas put forward, the UNOG Director-General intitiated a joint publication of the seminar proceedings in English and French, with DCAF being responsible for editing, translating and proof-reading the document and UNOG being responsible for printing and disseminating the pbulciation. In early January 2004 the publication will be sent to all invitees of the follow-up seminar, to be held on January 26, 2004.
Project aims

To edit the manuscript of the aforementioned publication, to have the original English version translated into French and tho have it proof-read by native speakers.
