The project builds on discussionsat, and the outcome of, the Seminar entitled "Cooperation between the UN and NATO: Quo vadis? held on June 11, 1999. This project spans two and a half yeras in duration (from January 2000 through June 2002) totaling approximately US 1 million in costs.

Three working groups will be established

1. Preventing and Managing Conflict: Opportunities for Co-operation
2. Security challenges in Psot Conflict Situations
3. Regional Dimensions of Cooperation: Implications of UN-NATO Collaboration on Relations with other regional actors
Objectifs du projet

The primary aim of the project is to explore a constructive and sustained relationship between UN and NATO in the context of past and present collaborative efforts,developing specific suggestions for their future interaction, and to explore the implications of a UN-NATO relationsship for other regional organisations and their ties to the UN:
