Die letzte Evaluation der Beteiligung der Schweiz am ILL hat 1993 stattgefunden. Im Hinblick auf die Verlängerung unseres Abkommens mit dem ILL 2004-2008 interessiert uns erneut eine externe Meinung zu unserer Beteiligung.

Objectifs du projet (Allemand)

Standortbestimmung, indem im Evaluationsbericht vor allem Wert auf die direkte Beantwortung eines 12-Punkte Fragenkatalogs gelegt werden soll. Wichtige Themenkreise sind:
a) Vorteile, Wichtigkeit und Auswirkungen für unsere Forscher?
b) Wissenschaftlicher, wirtschaftlicher, und industrieller Nutzen?
c) Folgen einer reduzierten Beteiligung oder eines Ausstiegs?
d) Synergien und Komplementarität zur nationalen Quelle SINQ am PSI?
e) Qualitative Bewertung der durchgeführten Forschung und Publikationsrate?

Résumé des résultats (Abstract) (Anglais)

This executive summary gives the main results of the evaluation:
a) A membership at ILL is essential for the international competitiveness of Swiss neutron research.
b) The current share of usage of the ILL facilities seems appropriate. The direct economical and industrial benefit of the Swiss membership at ILL is comparable to the Swiss contribution.
c) ILL will remain the world leading neutron centre for the next five years until SNS and JSNS become fully operational.
d) The instrumentation at ILL and PSI is largely complementary.
e) Swiss research with neutron beams has a very high international standing reflected in publications of important research results in prestigious international journals.

Die Evaluation ist ein wichtiges Element für die noch im Jahr 2003 abzuschliessenden Verhandlungen mit dem ILL zu unserer Beteiligung im Hinblick auf die Verlängerung unseres Abkommens mit dem ILL 2004-2008. Die Evaluation ILL wird in der Schriftenreihe BBW publiziert.
