Abstract (Englisch)

The objective of this project is to develop a photodynamic treatment to eradicate and control the spread of infectious antibiotic resistant micro-organisms in man. Over 30 new compounds were de-signed in collaboration with the project partners. 27 of these were synthesised at Solvias. 22 of these compounds had sufficient water solubility and were tested against bacteria with and without light. Several interesting leads were identified. The filing of a patent is in progress.
