WP 5: Machine investigation
Hunkeler, OPS, PTS and CPT during a meeting at OPS (April) decide to perform a technical survey in order to get the knowledge of the range of the main stresses applied onto the paper during converting which are responsible of poor toner adhesion.
Hunkeler has investigated the possibility of re-moisturing the printed papers after the fusing units, in order to avoid paper runability problems in the converting line. PTS organised a trial at Hunkeler (January 2002) with toner printing on both sides, remoisturing unit and converting on the same line to validate this equipment. Papermakers sent papers for this trial and attended the trials.
