Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
Aim of the project MONASIDRE is the development of a program for the real-time management of a UMTS-network (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System) in the context of a diversified radio environment. More specifically MONASIDRE addresses the following aspects. First, monitoring and analysing the statistical performance and the associated QoS levels provided by the network elements. Second, inter-working with service provider mechanisms, so as to allow service providers to dynamically request the reservation (release, etc.) of network resources. Third, performing dynamic network planning as a result of resource management strategies, so as to optimise delivery of services to mobile users under a spectrum limited constraint. Fourth, mapping adequately the IP based network resources to the radio resources.
The HEVs is one of the seven European partners of this project and leader of the workpackage 6 'UMTS, MBS and DBS Network and Environment Simulator'. The main task of the HEVs consists in the development and implementation of a simulator for the core network (IP based) of UMTS-network. This simulator will be implemented in C++ and will run in a distributed environment using a CORBA platform.
