Résumé des résultats (Abstract)

Europe's minority elderly in the next decade will be a larger share of the elderly giving rise to 'urgency' in research and developments. Policymakers face the dilemma of how best to meet their needs our project will provide empirical evidence on the 'best fit' in managing health and social care to minority elderly. It will adopt three foci using quantitative and qualitative methods adopting a process perspective The project will assess expectations and needs met from minority elderly perspective; assess actual delivery by mainstream providers and minority voluntary organisations. In turn it will examine anecdotal presumptions held by the three groupings e.g. 'they will return home'; families look after their own'. This represents a first comparative research examining diverse minority elderly including displaced population in 8 countries (one cluster). Unless Research is specifically targeted to minority elderly the group is omitted due to their absence in the sample frame. Hence Knowledge and practical policy will emerge because minority elderly as a group of elderly (as distinct from majority v minority elderly) will be researched and propositions made.
