The TEL project aims to improve co-operation among European national libraries in the field of management and availability of their collecitons both traditional and electronic.

Seek a consensus with publishers on the deposit of electronic documents;
Develop business plans;
Reach a consensus on metadata types and their application
Implement test beds for system networking and interoperability

Résumé des résultats (Abstract) (Anglais)

The project has been a success and has been very favourably reviewed by the European Commission. The project partners have signed a agreement to fund an operational system based on TEL for an initial three year period (until end 2006).

Mise en oeuvre et application (Anglais)

The Royal library the Hague has been mandated by the partners to set up an operational system with funding from the partners.
