A concept for transforming visual information into a digital medium

Abstract (English)

Digitising the collection calls for a frofound evaluation of the status quo. This includes a detailed registration of the different media types, storage facilities and preservational conditions. For the verbal capture of visual information, a catalogue of metadata needs to be established. Additionally, it has to be determinded which purposes of the digital collection has to serve. Based on these factors, goals are set up and possibilities to reach these evaluated.
