Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
Minimising the effects of aircraft emission upon the atmosphere is both increasingly important and challenging. The greatest potential is through advances in aircraft and engine technology but improvements in the air traffic operations may also make a significant contribution. The establishment of Co2 reduction goals through the Kyoto protocol sharpen the need for the inclusive debate between all communities aimed at setting collaborative international solution in place. These developments together with pressures for tougher global scale emissions regulation through ICAO and the new European local Air Quality Regulation concerning airports make it necessary that all involved communities need to communicate and co-ordinate their activities in the best possible way. For this reason AERONET II has been created as a platform where all the stakeholder communities can meet, exchange information, views and experiences gathered in different EU projects and national programmes.
AERONETII addresses the issue of reducing the impact of aircraft emissions on the atmosphere. For many subjects in this complex field communication and co-operation and the consideration of a broad variety of technical, economic, environmental and social aspects among the different stakeholder of aircraft and engine, air transport and jet fuel industry, aeronautical and atmospheric research and regulatory bodies is helpful or even necessary. AERONETII provides the only well-organised, comprehensive and continuous platform in this area. Workshops, meetings, short studies and open scientific colloquia will be performed. It will foster the interdisciplinary relationships, raise the level of personal and corporate knowledge and confidence among the partners, identify gaps in knowledge and needs for further research and development.
