Switzerland is actively participating in the common endeavour to combat small arms proliferation and misuse. Switzerland envisages concentrating its efforts where it has comparative advantages. In particular, it intends to focus on the development of small arms marking techniques, on the promotion of information exchange and transparency relating to small arms, and on the promotion of common standards on small arms manufacture and transfers. In order to pursue this agenda, Switzerland is planning to co-operate with a number of selected international experts in the field of small arms.
