Abstract
(English)
The proposed project is intended to increase the confidence in glass source term modelling for representative geological disposal conditions (crystalline and clay rocks). An integrated approach to the chemical and physical interaction and coupled phenomena controlling the long-term stability of glass in the near field of geological disposal sites will be used. The project combines experimental measurements of key kinetic and thermodynamic parameters (diffusion coefficients, formation enthalpies, sorption coefficients), with modelling exercises based on Analytical and Geochemical codes.
