Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
Issyk-Kul is a closed lake situated in the Tien Shan mountain belt of Kyrgyzstan, within one of the most populated areas of the country. The lake is affected by several environmental threats resulting from industrial and agricultural activities, and from a progressive increase in salinity.
The project will combine a multidisciplinary approach in order to understand and quantify the physical and chemical processes affecting the lake waters, and to study the hydrodynamical behaviour of the water mass in terms of the dispersal and deposition of liquid and solid contaminants entering the lake.
In summary, the project will quantify the present state of pollution and will present a scientific framework for the environmental protection of the lake basin.
