The 2050 Energy Strategy is based on a massive development of renewable energy sources. Swiss hydropower stations are key components of this strategy considering in particular their systematic upgrade and extension. This proposed multi-disciplinary project aims to develop a numerical tool for assessing the true hydropower renovation potential of these hydropower stations by considering both electricity generation increase and services to the grid.
